Andrew Hsu, (M. Mus., B. Mus)
Violin
He began his violin study at ten in his hometown Hong Kong. He played in various performing groups in Hong Kong in his youth, and was appointed as the concertmaster of Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Andrew studied in the School of Music of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and graduated with Bachelor of Music (with High Honors) and Master of Music degrees in violin performance. He was awarded tuition waiver during his studies. He studied violin performance under Prof. Sherban Lupu, and chamber music under members of the Pacifica Quartet. He played in various performing groups in and outside school, and was appointed as the concertmaster of the University of Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra.
After graduation, Andrew joined Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the training orchestra of Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He was also selected in Civic Orchestra as a member of MusiCorps program, in which he performed with fellow Civic members in various elementary schools, high schools and parks in Chicago, and introducing different string instruments and explaining their performing methods to the students and audience.
Andrew went back to Hong Kong after leaving Civic Orchestra and taught violin in various secondary and primary schools, and in the Music Office. He also performed in several orchestras including the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Strings, and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong. Andrew relocated to Canada in August 2022 and is now excited to continue his music career here!
Jiyeon Ahn, (M. Mus., B.A.)
Violin, Piano
She graduated with Bachelor of Music with distinction from Queen’s University. She began her violin studies with Ray Dotoratos in New York, and continued her violin studies with Kyung ae Kim and Gisèle Dalbec. She is an enthusiastic chamber musician. Throughout her career, she has participated in many ensembles and orchestras, including Boheme Chamber Ensemble, Ars Nova Ensemble, Seoul Orchestra, and Tongyoung International Music Festival Ensemble. She also played as a member of Bohemian Soloists.

Jiyeon has been teaching since 2002. She has worked with students of all ages, and with her knowledge in Psychology, which she also holds degree in, she focuses on fun and leads her students to enjoy their music making.
Simon Lau, (L.R.S.M., B.Sc.)
Violin
He born and raised in Hong Kong, Simon first discovered the joy of playing the violin at the age of 9. Under the tutelage of maestro Thomas Wang, Simon was considered a late starter by many, but quickly mastered the necessary skills and became one of the youngest members of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra at the time. He subsequently became Concertmaster for the same orchestra and other ones as well.
At the age of 16, Simon organized his own chamber group “Bachanini” and won many awards at the Hong Kong School Music and Speech Festival. He was also one of the youngest violinists to have obtained the L.R.S.M. certification from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in England.

After arriving in Canada, he had studied under many master violinists, including the late professor Eugene Kash of the Royal Conservatory of Music. Simon has been a member of several music organizations in Canada, including the York Symphony Orchestra.
Amber Chan, (B.A.)
Piano
Amber Chan is a dedicated piano teacher, music instructor, and performer with teaching and performance experience in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Toronto. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Higher Diploma in Popular Music and Music Production from the Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education, providing a strong foundation in both classical training and practical musicianship.
Amber has extensive experience teaching piano and general music in schools and private studios. She designs well-structured and engaging lesson plans, supports students at different levels, and maintains clear communication with parents to support each student’s progress. In addition to teaching, she has been actively involved in organizing and supporting ensemble performances, choral concerts, and school music events, helping students gain valuable performance experience.
As a performer, Amber has appeared as both a soloist and ensemble musician at venues such as the 105 Gibson Centre and Polymnia concerts. She has also participated in television productions with RTHK and ViuTV. Her background includes directing and acting in musical theatre productions, working as a church accompanist, and contributing to Christian music production, reflecting her versatility across a wide range of musical styles and settings.
Amber has received international recognition, including the Excellence in Communication Award at the International Film & Video Festival, as well as academic excellence scholarships. She is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, proficient in English, and experienced in music technology and notation software such as Logic, GarageBand, and Sibelius.
With a strong commitment to quality music education and student development, Amber brings professionalism, creativity, and care to her teaching and performance work in Canada.
Carlie Yip, (L.T.C.L, A.Mus.T.C.L.,B.Mus., Cert. Ed)
Piano, Vocal
Carlie graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. She also holds the Licentiate Diploma in Recital in Voice (LTCL) and the Associate Diploma in Musical Theory, Criticism, and Literature (AMusTCL) from Trinity College London.
Over the years, Carlie has performed in numerous recitals and solo engagements, including notable roles such as the AIDS Virus Leader (Female) in the world premiere of Boys & Girls-Musical AIDS. She also served as the soprano soloist in John Rutter’s Mass of the Children and in the oratorio The Kingdom of God, arranged by David Clydesdale.

With 25 years of experience, Carlie has worked as a choir conductor and music teacher in elementary schools. She spent 16 years to lead the school choir to multiple championships at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival (HKSMF) and earned a Gold Award at the Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition.
Carlie is actively involved in the Hong Kong choral community as a member of various choirs, including the Music Office Youth Choir, City University Choir, Hong Kong Youth Choir, Opera Hong Kong, and Die Konzertisten. She is also a founding member of the Hong Kong Chamber Choir and Luster, an a cappella group, and has engaged in diverse musical genres,
Davina Lee, (A.R.C.T., B.Comm.)
Piano, Theory
Davina holds an ARCT in Piano Performance. She also studied piano pedagogy with Mrs. Marina Geringas at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Orff Method with Mrs. Margaret Huggett.
Davina is a co-founder of the Music Clubhouse and Music Adventure programs. She loves teaching children and puts great emphasis in making her lessons fun and enjoyable. She also serves as organist at her local church.
Devonne Lok, (A.T.C.L.)
Piano
Holding an ATCL diploma from Trinity College London, Devonne began her musical journey at the age of 7 in Hong Kong, where she immersed herself in classical piano before expanding into pop music after moving to Canada. Along the way, she was inspired by several mentors, including a teacher from the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Devonne now plays piano in her church’s worship band and occasionally accompanies small choir groups. Her dedication to nurturing talent shines through in her teaching. By fostering a supportive and creative environment, she encourages students to enjoy the process of learning and develop a genuine passion for music.
Elaine Wang, (A.R.C.T.)
Piano
Elaine is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at the University of Toronto. She is a classically trained pianist and flutist currently studying under the tutelage of Dr. Emily Chiang, and previously Dr. Megan Chang. Elaine frequently accompanies vocalists and instrumentalists in festivals, exams, and auditions. She has also performed on flute and piano with several ensembles such as the University of Toronto Wind Symphony, HartHouse Orchestra, Rouge River Winds, Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra, and the Ontario Provincial Honour Band. Elaine loves nothing more than teaching and inspiring passion and creativity in young musicians.
Hadara Jacoby, (B.Ed.Mus.)
Piano, Theory
Hadara started taking piano lessons at the age of 5, and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Education in Music from the Jerusalem Academy of Music. For 13 years, Hadara worked as a piano teacher at Forte Music School in Oak Ridges, where she enjoyed sharing her passion for music with students of all ages. Throughout the years, Hadara proudly watched her students grow and develop their musical skills, participate in recitals, and excel at RCM exams. Since 2010, Hadara has also been working as a piano accompanist for the Evergreen Choir in Aurora, under the direction of Dr. Richard Heinzle.
Irina Kremer, (M.Mus., B.Mus.)
Piano
Irina received her Bachelor’s in Music with Honours in Piano pedagogy at Moscow College of Music with further graduate studies at Saratov State Conservatory, earning her Master’s degree in piano pedagogy.

Irina has been teaching piano for all ages and levels for over 25 years and very passionate about sharing her knowledge with her students. Irina’s teaching approach to motivate and inspire her students helping them to reach their potential and achieve an excellent results on RCM exams

Lichelle Li, (B.Mus.)
Piano, Vocal
Ms. Lichelle began her musical journey with piano and later developed a strong passion for vocal music in high school. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Music degree from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, where she actively participated in university performances and various piano and vocal concerts. Over the years, she has received numerous awards and has gained extensive experience as a performer.
After moving to Canada, Ms. Lichelle continued her musical studies through the Royal Conservatory of Music, earning certification and becoming very familiar with the RCM program. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English and has been teaching music for over 10 years.
Known for her strong teaching foundation and patient approach, Ms. Lichelle tailors her lessons to each student’s needs and learning style, helping them grow with confidence and joy in music.
Kelvin Ou, (A.R.C.T., B.A.)
Piano
Kelvin started learning piano at the age of 4 and obtained his A.R.C.T in Piano Performance at the age of 16. He took a minor in music at York University studying music history, theory and pedagogical methods.
Kelvin is passionate about teaching and spreading his love for piano with his students. During lessons, his approach to teaching is about adapting to the students needs and goals all while making the lessons enjoyable. He plans currently to join a chamber, study more into piano accompaniment, and finishing his Bachelor of Education.
Maggie Pong, (B.F.A.)
Piano
Maggie graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours). Also, she holds ATCL level of the Trinity College London in Recital in Piano.

She has been teaching piano for over 20 years and had been successfully sent her students for the piano exams at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Most of her students have passed with merit and distinction in the examination.
Thanks for her passion, well-rounded approach of techniques and musicality, her students received outstanding awards in music competitions.
Rena Lu, (B.F.A., A.R.C.T..)

Ms. Lu is a pianist and music instructor with many years of experience teaching classical piano, jazz/pop piano, and improvised freestyle performance. She holds a B.A. Honours Degree in Music and a Bachelor of Art History from McMaster University. Some of her professional highlights include certification as a Keyboard Group Instructor for YAMAHA programs, TESL Canada Instructor Certificate of Accreditation, and a teaching practicum certificate from the York Catholic District School Board.
As a teacher, she encourages students to find the fun in music while learning essential foundations that develop transferable skills for life.
Ms. Lu teaches piano performance, music theory, music history, and harmony to children and adults. She continually explores new teaching methods, paying particular attention to the individual learning styles of her students. Her goal is to guide students’ musical development through the exploration of various genres beyond the classical repertoire. She prepares her students for RCM exams, Keyfest exams, and music festivals, ensuring they perform to their full potential.
Above all, Ms. Lu believes that studying music should be a fun and exciting experience. She incorporates games, musical mediums, and teaching kits to foster curiosity and enthusiasm in the learning process.
Ryan Lei, (B.F.A)

Ryan is a committed music educator and versatile multi-instrumentalist holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Jazz Studies from York University, with a specialization in double bass. He provides instruction in guitar, piano, and bass, supported by an extensive musical background and practical performance experience. As an active performer, arranger, and band leader across jazz, pop, and fusion styles, Ryan integrates real-world musicianship into his teaching approach. He is dedicated to guiding students toward strong technical foundation, comprehensive musical understanding, and confident, expressive performance.
Stephanie Chan, (A.R.C.T., LL.M., LL.B.)

Stephanie is a classically trained pianist who has been playing the piano for over 25 years. Beginning her piano studies at the age of 4, she received her ARCT diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) at 18 years old. Over the years, Stephanie has won numerous awards for piano competitions at various music festivals. As a shy girl growing up, she strongly believes that competitions can increase her students’ confidence and emotional maturity as they learn to become more comfortable in the limelight.
Stephanie loves teaching children and seeing them discover the joy of music, especially when they feel accomplished after learning to play the song in its entirety. Music has a unique way of allowing the musician to express their feelings that is truly magical. She still remembers the wonderful memories she had with her own piano teacher and the beauty of channeling inexplicable emotions into her music.
After completing her ARCT diploma, Stephanie went on to become a fully licensed lawyer in Ontario. Aside from the law, music is a huge source of her joy and she continues to fuel her love for music through teaching. Her goal is to help students discover the gift of music that will last them a lifetime.
Tatyana Mirzoyan, (M.A., B.A.)
Piano
Tatyana has 20 years of experience as a teacher and an accompanist. She possesses strong knowledge of classical, romantic and modern music that she has successfully instructed students of various age groups. Her professional studies started in the Sayat-Nova State Music School after which she was accepted in the Arno Babadjanian State Music College. She continued her studies in the Armenian State Pedagogical University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with specialization as a Choir Director. In 1989, Tatyana received her Bachelor and Masters Degree in Yerevan State University with specialization in Piano Performance. She also received qualification to teach music at the college and university level. She remained teaching university students and conducting extensive research of Methods in Music Pedagogy for public school systems. She commuted to and from Gertzen’s University and St. Petersburg where she participated in conferences and gained extensive knowledge in various disciplines of Pedagogy. Currently, Tatyana works as a Piano Instructor and Accompanist as well as adjudicates at festivals and competitions. Tatyana is very passionate about working with students and sharing her knowledge of music. Many of her students achieved great results and have gone on to receive ARCT diplomas. Tatyana has worked at many churches where she has accompanied choirs and musical ensembles.

Robert graduated from Seneca at York University’s Independent Music Production Program. He teaches guitar as well as the rudiments of drums and bass. He had experience helping and organizing students into bands and oversaw their rehearsals and performances. He has played in many bands as a musician.

Lavien Lee, (B.F.A.)
Drum, Guitar
Lavien began his formal musical training with piano lessons when he was 10 years old. Mostly self taught, he discovered his love for drumming in high school when he formed his first rock bank with some friends. His love for beating the skins and laying down a solid foundation for a great rock bank has never stopped since.
Fast forward to university, Lavien studied jazz extensively and found a unique interest in West African drumming and polyrhythms at York University where he completed his honours degree in Jazz Performance Although his bread and butter is rock drumming, he has experience playing all styles of music ranging from pop, hip hop to blues, country and traditional Chinese music.
With over a decade of teaching under his belt, Lavien likes to approach music holistically and incorporates singing, dancing and breathing techniques into his lessons because music is expressed through vibration, movement and emotions. What makes Lavien standout as a drum teacher is his ability to drum and sing at the same time and being able to play other instruments like guitar and piano. This makes him a well rounded musician that understands music from a variety of perspectives.
David Liu
Guitar, Ukulele
David graduated from Centennial College with an Advanced Diploma in Music Industry and Arts Performance. He has been playing both acoustic and electric guitar for almost 20 years, mastering a variety of genres including blues, jazz, R&B, pop, rock, folk, and fingerstyle. In addition to his performance skills, David is passionate about composition, arrangement, recording, and live performance.

As a teacher, David is patient and dedicated to inspiring his students with tasteful music. He carefully prepares study materials and handouts before each class and is always happy to explore music that aligns with his students’ interests.

With over a decade of teaching under his belt, Lavien likes to approach music holistically and incorporates singing, dancing and breathing techniques into his lessons because music is expressed through vibration, movement and emotions. What makes Lavien standout as a drum teacher is his ability to drum and sing at the same time and being able to play other instruments like guitar and piano. This makes him a well rounded musician that understands music from a variety of perspectives.

Ryan is a committed music educator and versatile multi-instrumentalist holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Jazz Studies from York University, with a specialization in double bass. He provides instruction in guitar, piano, and bass, supported by an extensive musical background and practical performance experience. As an active performer, arranger, and band leader across jazz, pop, and fusion styles, Ryan integrates real-world musicianship into his teaching approach. He is dedicated to guiding students toward strong technical foundation, comprehensive musical understanding, and confident, expressive performance.
Jerson Munoz, (B.Mus.)
Baritone, Trombone, Trumpet
Jerson Munoz is a Toronto based trombonist and educator who holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from Humber College. He has studied privately with Kelsley Grant and had masterclasses with Al Kay.
His performance experience includes swing bands, Latin big bands, small jazz, pop, & rock ensembles as a lead, soloist, and side musician. Throughout his career, he has performed at various festivals and venues in the Greater Toronto Area.

Oxana Podoliak, (B. Mus.)
Clarinet, Flute & Saxophone
Oxana Podoliak has been teaching woodwinds for over 25 years. She began her music education at Lviv State College of Music with further graduate studies at Lviv State Music Academy, earning her degree in Performance and Pedagogy. With a background in solo, chamber music and orchestral playing, Oxana’s passion for wind instruments has seen her engaged over the years in multiple performances.
Currently, Oxana is giving flute, clarinet and saxophone lessons to students of all RCM levels and ARCT in and around the Toronto area. Among her students, many of them are Regional RCM Gold Medal receipents and winners of local and provincial music festivals. Some of them got accepted to the music program in universities.

David Liu

David graduated from Centennial College with an Advanced Diploma in Music Industry and Arts Performance. He has been playing both acoustic and electric guitar for almost 20 years, mastering a variety of genres including blues, jazz, R&B, pop, rock, folk, and fingerstyle. In addition to his performance skills, David is passionate about composition, arrangement, recording, and live performance.

As a teacher, David is patient and dedicated to inspiring his students with tasteful music. He carefully prepares study materials and handouts before each class and is always happy to explore music that aligns with his students’ interests.
Robert Bradley, (I.M.P.)
Ukulele, Guitar, Bass, Drum
Robert graduated from Seneca at York University’s Independent Music Production Program. He teaches guitar as well as the rudiments of drums and bass. He had experience helping and organizing students into bands and oversaw their rehearsals and performances. He has played in many bands as a musician.

Jiyeon Ahn, (M. Mus., B.A.)
Violin ensemble, piano
She graduated with Bachelor of Music with distinction from Queen’s University. She began her violin studies with Ray Dotoratos in New York, and continued her violin studies with Kyung ae Kim and Gisèle Dalbec. She is an enthusiastic chamber musician. Throughout her career, she has participated in many ensembles and orchestras, including Boheme Chamber Ensemble, Ars Nova Ensemble, Seoul Orchestra, and Tongyoung International Music Festival Ensemble. She also played as a member of Bohemian Soloists.

Jiyeon has been teaching since 2002. She has worked with students of all ages, and with her knowledge in Psychology, which she also holds degree in, she focuses on fun and leads her students to enjoy their music making.
